WEEKLY and monthly bus fares in Rotherham will rise next month.
First South Yorkshire has announced it will rise the cost of its weekly ticket from £14 to £15 and monthly tickets will cost £54.
Changes will come into effect from Sunday, May 7, but the company’s day tickets will remain at £4.
Allan Riggall, First South Yorkshire’s head of commercial, said: “As with any business, when reviewing prices, we factor in the costs that we face as a business and although some customers will have to pay more than they did last week, we are proud we have managed to limit increases over a sustained period of ten years.
“We are working extremely hard in Rotherham to address the losses being made in the town.
“We are committed to offering value for money fares and the comparisons versus ten years ago demonstrate this.”
