Burglars raid Co-op in Tickhill

The raid took place at the Co-op on Westgate in Tickhill at 8.30pm on Saturday.

An eyewitness said two men and a woman had placed the meat and cleaning products into a basket before going to walk out of the store without paying.

He said the glass doors had closed on the burglars before they could leave the store, so they had begun to “smash their way through them and made their escape”.

No staff are thought to have been hurt in the incident.

A police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information which may assist officers can pass it on via our new online live chat, our online portal or by calling 101.

“Please quote incident number 814 of January 21 when you get in touch.”
