Burglar targets child's bike in Edlington

POLICE want to trace a man who broke into an Edlington house and tried to steal a bicycle.

Occupants at the Linden Grove property reported that an intruder tried to steal the child’s bike at around 11.05pm on Saturday, January 20.

One resident, a 38-year-old woman, received minor hand injuries as she tried to stop the man from taking the bike.

The intruder left empty-handed — he is described as about 6ft 4ins tall, very skinny and with blue eyes.

He was wearing a balaclava and is said to have spoken very slowly and possibly with a lisp.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the time of the intrusion.

Telephone police on 101 quoting incident number 20 January 2018, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
