Burgers and coffee create Rotherham jobs

A BURGER King and Starbucks development bringing 66 jobs has been waved through by planners.

The double drive-thru will be built at the Elmwood Farm pub roundabout, off the A57 Chesterfield Road in Swallownest.

About two-thirds of the jobs will be at the fast food diner, applicants Burney Estates said.

A Rotherham Borough Council spokesman said: “The design and appearance of the proposal is considered appropriate in this location on the edge of a business park.

“The proposal is not considered to cause any adverse impact to the amenity of adjoining occupiers, nor are there any highway safety issues.”
