BREAKING: Pair arrested after attempted murder in Eastwood

A 45-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were being held by police after an incident in Eldon Road at 1.20am today (Monday).

Police said they were called to an altercation and two men with stab wounds were taken to hospital.

A 21-year-old sustained a stomach injury and was described as being in a serious but stable condition. A 49-year-old suffered a minor injury to his arm.

A police spokeswoman said: “An investigation has been launched and officers are appealing for information and witnesses.

“The 45-year-old woman and 25-year-old man currently remain in custody as enquiries continue.”
