BREAKING: Millers' chairman explains why deals fell through

ROTHERHAM United were prepared to smash their transfer record by over THREE times to bring Millwall’s Lee Gregory to the club.

And Millers’ chairman Tony Stewart has also revealed the reason why the plug was pulled on a bid to bring Walsall’s hot-shot Tom Bradshaw to the New York Stadium.

Speaking to tomorrow’s Advertiser, Mr Stewart says that the increasing demands of both clubs are the reason why Rotherham haven’t pursued their interest.

“There are a lot of people throwing silly money around — and we will not do that,” he said.

Mr Stewart has also appealed for patience from fans after their frustrations understandably increased this morning. “We have other irons in the fire and we will pursue them,” he added.

Tomorrow’s Advertiser will reveal the full details of why the plug was pulled on Gregory and Bradshaw and reveal some of the top-line clubs the Millers are in talks with.
