BREAKING: Bridge near New York Stadium "damaged" after lorry sheds load

It is understood a load fell from a lorry on the section of Centenary Way passing New York Stadium and affected the central reservation.

From the stadium’s south car park, daylight can be seen coming through the bridge to the site below.

A worker at near the site said the affected area had been coned off following the incident at 8.30am today but traffic was still being allowed to cross the bridge over the River Don and South Yorkshire Navigation Canal.
