Boys bailed over aggravated burglary

Police said two people forced their way into a house on Mowbray Gardens, Rotherham, on Tuesday (18).

The suspects assaulted the resident before stealing his TV.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Two Rotherham boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were detained by officers at an address nearby shortly afterwards. 

“One boy, aged 17, has been charged with burglary and assault, and another, aged 16, has been charged with burglary, assault, assaulting a police officer and possession of a class B drug.”

The pair appeared before magistrates yesterday and were bailed until their next appearance on September 23.
