Boy escapes with cut ear after running into path of car

A 12-year-old boy escaped with minor injuries after running into a busy road and being struck by a car.

The youngster, from Maltby, sustained a cut to his right ear in the incident which happened on Tickhill Road, Maltby, at around 7.30pm on March 17.

A police spokesman revealed: “It is believed that the 12-year-old boy from Maltby ran into the road and collided with the vehicle.

“The driver of the vehicle stopped to check on the boy before leaving the scene.”

The boy required stitches for the injury to his ear following the incident.

Police are now appealing for witnesses in an effort to track down the female driver of the vehicle involved.
