Boy (3) seriously injured in Parkgate Shopping collision

The three-year-old boy was taken to hospital via the Yorkshire Air Ambulance following the incident at 11.47am on Saturday (May 25) and was released from hospital the same evening.

“We were called to reports that a child had been in collision with a blue Ford Focus at Parkgate Shopping,” said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police. 

The boy’s injuries were “serious but not considered to be life-threatening”.

The female driver was not injured and an investigation into the crash is ongoing, she added.

Stadium Way was partially closed by police to allow for the air ambulance to land in the car park to assist paramedics.
