Boy (16) robbed at knifepoint in Whiston park

A TEENAGER was robbed at knifepoint while walking near at park at Whiston.

He was approached by a group who got out of a car close to Cowrakes Park.

South Yorkshire Police said it was reported that the 16-year-old had a number of personal possessions stolen.

A spokesperson added: Following enquiries, a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were detained in the Normanton Hill area of Sheffield.

“They were arrested on suspicion of robbery offences in connection to this incident, and three further robberies in the area on the same day.”

The Whiston incident happened at about 7.40pm last Wednesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 917 of March 23.
