Boy (13) racially abused Maltby family

A BOY aged 13 who shouted racial abuse at a family has been ordered to keep away from his victim’s home.

The lad’s hate crime last Sunday afternoon was dealt with by police through restorative justice, where a punishment is agreed by victim and offender.

The teenager, from Maltby, was given a community resolution order meaning he cannot engage with the victims. He was also referred to the local youth offending team.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour and hate crime and will always work to take action where possible.”
