HOSPICE patients will be sitting pretty on new furniture thanks to donations from two Rotherham organisations.

The Rotherham Hospice received the welcome boost from The Rotherham and District Football Charity Cup Competition and South Yorkshire Caravan Club, which donated a total of £645 for new sofas, armchairs and side tables to make the quiet room more contemporary and comfortable.

The Rotherham and District Football Charity Cup Competition selected the Rotherham Hospice as their chosen charity in memory of Christine Majer, whose son Neil is a regular player for the Ring o' Bells team.

Additional funds provided by the Caravan Club have also purchased a laptop for patients who use the day unit at the hospice.

The club's fund-raising efforts are co-ordinated by the junior membership's committee which organises activities for the adults at all the club's meetings.
