POLICE officers searching for missing Dearne Valley pensioner Brian Tomlinson have today (Tuesday) found a body in Barnsley.
The man's body was found by specialist search officers in Small Bridge Dyke on the Trans Pennine Trail at around 11.45am.
"While formal identification has not yet taken place, officers do believe it to be that of 80-year-old Brian Tomlinson," said a police spokeswoman.
"Brian’s family have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious however officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries."
Mr Tomlinson was reported missing on Friday after leaving his home in Hemingfield near Wombwell.
