Bluebell Wood's helping hand to fix storm damage

A CHARITY stuck in a jam after stormy weather was given a helping hand by experts with a head for heights.

Staff from Eagle Platforms swept into action after a mechanical window became jammed at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice at North Anston.

Operations director Dan Stewart said the firm, based in nearby Ryton Road, was a business partner of the hospice, meaning it makes an annual donation to the children’s charity.

“We also have regular fundraising events such as raffles & prize draws for the centre, which involve staff and customers who visit our premises.

“We’re delighted to help such a good cause, and as a local company feel it is our responsibility to the local community to do so.

“Our part is only a small one, but these small gestures add up, and help the hospice provide a great service for those who need it.

“On this occasion, the maintenance work carried out was to repair a mechanical locking window that had jammed open during the incredibly bad weather of last week.”
