Bluebell Wood soapbox derby racing back into town

HOMEMADE carts will be whizzing through Clifton Park again when Bluebell Wood’s Soapbox Derby returns for a third year.

The award-winning event sees daredevil racers negotiate bumps, jumps and chicanes in vehicles made from baths, bicycles and wheelchair parts.

Rachel Hodges, senior events fundraiser at the children’s hospice, said: “We’re really looking forward to another unforgettable day out for racers and spectators alike.

“Now’s the time to snap up a team place if you fancy putting your cart design and racing skills to the test.

“Every penny of sponsorship will help our families to live with love and laughter and make special memories, whether they have days, months or years left together.”

The event — including classic cars on show and children’s rides — takes place on Saturday, September 22.
