Blaze at Kimberworth bowling alley

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a bowling alley blaze this morning after the boiler caught fire.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus put out the fire at the Superbowl in Kimberworth after being called out by cleaning staff at about 6.30am.

A fire service spokesman said that the fire appeared to have burned through gas pipes, leaving a flame of gas shooting out of the boiler.

By turning off the gas supply, firefighters had been able to put out the fire, he added.
