Bin fires in Wombwell

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to two separate bin fires in Wombwell last night (Wednesday) - and happened just 20 minutes apart.

A crew from Birley station was called to Hough Lane at 9.30pm where two wheelie bins were torched, and left the scene at 9.50pm.

Another fire was started in Barnsley Road at 9.50pm.

"An industrial bin was set on fire and a crew from Birley station attended," said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

"The causes of both incidents were deliberate."
