Bin fire spreads to empty property in Edlington arson attack

AN EMPTY property in Edlington was damaged after arsonists set a nearby bin alight.

Firefighters from Edlington, Doncaster and Maltby stations were called to the deliberate fire on Staveley Street at 4.50pm on Friday, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

They were at the scene until 10.55pm, she added.

A garage was damaged in a separate arson attack on Tickhill Road, Denaby, at 3.50pm on Saturday.

Firefighters from Barnsley, Rotherham and Maltby stations were called to the scene after a deliberate rubbish fire spread to the side of a garage, the spokeswoman said.

Crews were at the scene until 4.30pm.

Firefighters from Dearne station were called to deal with a deliberate rubbish fire on Angel Street, Bolton, on Sunday.

They were called to the deliberate fire at 7.05pm and left the scene at 8.15pm, the spokeswoman said.
