Biker hurt in collision at Hickleton crossroads

A BIKER was seriously hurt in a collision with a car at a notorious crossroads.

Police were called to Hickleton Road, near the A635 Doncaster Road at 5.45pm on Tuesday, in Hickleton, after a Suzuki motorbike collided with a white Ford Fiesta.

A 32-year-old man who was riding the Suzuki suffered suspected spinal injuries, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

The man driving the Fiesta was thought to be unhurt, she added.

It is believed to be at least the ninth accident at the crossroads within the past three years, according to campaigners from the Hickleton Bypass Group.

Anyone with information about the collision should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 688 of July 2.
