Biker (23) dies in collision on Centenary Way

A MOTORCYCLIST died after colliding with a lamppost on Centenary Way yesterday (Thursday).

Police were called at 11.54am to the dual carriageway, near to its junction with Canklow Road, on the carriageway heading out of Rotherham.

A black Daelim motorcycle reportedly hit a lamppost and no other vehicles were involved, a police spokeswoman said.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 23-year-old Sheffield man, died at the scene.

His family have been notified and are receiving support, the spokeswoman said.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision or anyone who saw the motorcycle before the accident.
