Big picnic to mark tragic anniversary

Rocker Jason, of Broom, was killed in June 2019 in an accident on the smart motorway section of the M1 in Rotherham.

Claire gathered 50 friends and family at the park for a picnic to mark the third anniversary of Jason’s death.

She has spent much of the past three years campaigning to have the controversial road set-up scrapped after it was linked to a series of deaths.

The Department for Transport agreed earlier this year not to green-light any new stretches on the smart network until more safety data is gathered but stopped short of a complete U-turn.
