Barnsley man found guilty of sexually assaulting woman in Rotherham

A MAN who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in Rotherham has been put on the sex offender’s register for five years.

Samuel Wheeler (39), of Western Street, Barnsley, assaulted the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in April last year.

He was found guilty of the offence at a trial at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on August 2 and was given a 12-month community order.

Wheeler was ordered to complete up to 34 days of rehabilitation activity requirement and 150 hours of unpaid work.

He was also ordered to pay £400 costs.
