Balloons represent cuts in Rotherham

ANTI-cuts candidate Pat McLaughlin will release 120 balloons in Rotherham town centre — each representing £1 billion of unpaid UK corporate tax.

The parliamentary election hopeful, standing for the Trade Union Socialist Coalition, will be in All Saints’ Square at 11am on Saturday (25).

He said: “There is no need for an austerity agenda in this country, we are the sixth largest economy in the world.

“No-one should have to live in poverty, rely on food banks, be forced out of their homes and that should still allow plenty left over to fund the essential services such the NHS, social services and education.”
