Arsonists torch cars in Carr and Rotherham town centre

CARS were set on fire in Carr and Rotherham town centre overnight. 

Maltby firefighters were called out to a car alight on Low Lane at 7.10pm last night - with the crew on scene for 45 minutes.

A Ford Galaxy car was later reported to be on fire on Effingham Street in Rotherham town centre.

A crew from Rotherham station was called to the scene at 1.40am this morning and left the area at 2am.

Both cars are believed to have been set on fire deliberately, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
