Arsonists strike overnight

A FIRE at a semi-detached home was one of two arson attacks tackled overnight by fire crews.

A quantity of rubbish outside the home on Welland Crescent in Elsecar was deliberately set ablaze with the fire spreading to the house.

Three fire crews were called to the scene at 5.40am today and spent 80 minutes at the scene.

There were no injuries.

An area of grassland was deliberately set on fire on Old Moor Lane, Wombwell, last night.

A fire crew was called at 8pm and spent an hour bringing the blaze under control.
