Arson attacks on grassland and tree in Maltby

ARSONISTS set fire to grassland and a tree in Maltby overnight.

Firefighters from the town's station were called to Blyth Road at 9.20pm last night (Thursday) where 10m by 10m of grassland had been deliberately set alight, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

They left the scene at 9.45pm.

Firefighters from Maltby were called at 7.03am today (Friday) to Gipsy Lane where a tree had been set alight, she added.

The crew left the scene at 7.35am.
