Arson attack on empty building

FIREFIGHTERS spent nearly four hours at the scene of a blaze in a derelict building on Saturday evening.

It is believed the fire, at a two-storey property on Canklow Road, Canklow, was started deliberately.

Two crews from Rotherham station attended at about 8.45pm, leaving at about 12.30am.

The fire spread from the ground floor to the first floor and roof and the aerial ladder platform was used to attack the flames from above.
