Arrest after man’s body found in Rotherham town centre

Police confirmed the body of a man in his early 40s had been discovered at a private property after the ambulance service alerted them to the incident at around 10pm.

The man, who has yet to be named, is believed to have died from a suspected drug overdose, a force spokesman said.

A man in his early 30s has been arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug in connection with the death and remained in police custody today.

In a separate incident, police also responded to the suicide of a man in his early 40s at around 8.50pm in Rotherham last night.
