Arrest after driver leaves scene with three-year-old child following accident

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after reportedly fleeing with a three-year-old child from the scene of an accident where car ended up on its roof

Police were called at around 5.10pm yesterday evening following reports of a "single vehicle collision" on Edlington Lane in Edlington. 

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “It is reported that a red Seat Ibiza ended up on its roof and the male driver left the scene with a three-year-old child.

“The road was closed for a short time while the vehicle was recovered. 

“Officers located the driver and child soon afterwards and they were taken to hospital to be checked over. There were no serious injuries. 

“A 25-year-old Doncaster man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.”
