Armed robbery at Brinsworth service station

Officers were called to Canklow Bridge Service Station on Bawtry Road, Brinsworth, at 5.10am, following reports of a robbery, a police spokeswoman said.

Two men entered the store, threatened the cashier with a knife demanding money and fled the scene with £200 in cash, she said.

"The shop assistant experienced a medical episode and was taken to hospital by ambulance," said the spokeswoman.

"His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

"A scene is currently in place while enquiries continue."
