Appeal to trace man who returned stolen handbag

The handbag was stolen from a property in Browning Road, Mexborough, overnight between last Tuesday (24) and Wednesday (25).

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The handbag was subsequently returned by an unknown man to the victim’s house on Wednesday (25).

“Officers are keen to speak to the unknown man who returned the handbag, in a bid to identify where the handbag was recovered.”

Police are also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Browning Road area that evening and overnight.
