POLICE are trying to trace a driver who hit another car and caused it to knock over a pylon.
A grey Ford Focus with learner plates was reported to be travelling on Doncaster Road in Hooton Roberts, last Friday (25).
The vehicle collided with a black VW Scirocco at about 8.30pm, causing it to swerve and hit an electrical pylon, which fell into the road.
The driver of the grey car fled, police said, while the driver and a passenger in the VW suffered minor injuries.
Doncaster Road was closed for several hours while the area was made safe.
PC Paul McIntyre said: “It is important we identify the driver who made off from the scene. I would encourage anyone who may know them, or witnessed the collision, to please contact us on 101 quoting incident 1076 of August 25.
“Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
