Appeal to find new home for desperate dog Darwin

A FOSTER home is being sought to help a poorly dog on his road to recovery.

Animal charity Rain Rescue wants a place to stay for good-natured Malamute dog Darwin, who was left homeless when his owner died.

But Darwin hasn’t been too well and needs some TLC from a foster carer in order to get better.

Lauren Sanderson, deputy manager at Rain Rescue, said: “As soon as we saw Darwin walking we knew something wasn’t quite right with his legs and X-rays have shown he has a condition called hip dysplasia, as well as osteoarthritis, so he needs daily medication to help him with that.

“He’s also had a really poorly tum on and off since arriving.

“Again, he’s had treatment for that and we feel we are now on the road to recovery with him.

“But kennels are just no place for a dog like Darwin.

“He really misses home comforts and that human companionship he is clearly so accustomed to.”

The Moat Lane-based charity wants a foster home to look after Darwin until he is ready for adoption.

All medication, equipment and food costs will be covered by the charity.
