Appeal over snooker club plans

A DEVELOPER has appealed after plans to replace a snooker club with a caravan site were rejected.

UC Holdings’ plan to demolish the Corner Pocket on Wetmoor Lane, Wath, was thrown out by Rotherham Borough Council in April.

The development would have included creating a plot for six holiday camp-style mobile homes for the over-50s.

RMBC said the plan was out of keeping with the surrounding residential area and 130 objectors signed a petition.

The Planning Inspectorate confirmed it had received the appeal. A decision date has not yet been set.
