Appeal for witnesses to Wath drive-by attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two men attacked a pedestrian in Wath.

A man (33) was crossing Burman Road, close to the junction with Sandygate, just before 5pm on November 26 when it's reported he was clipped by a blue Volkswagen Polo, a police spokeswoman said.

Two men are said to have got out of the Polo and attack him.

A passer-by intervened and the pair drove off, the spokeswoman said.

The victim was taken to Rotherham Hospital where he was treated for head and facial injuries.

Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage who captured the Polo, to get in touch
