Appeal for witnesses to fatal Thrybergh crash

OFFICERS investigating a fatal crash in Thrybergh in which a biker died have asked witnesses to come forward.

A motorcyclist on a black Honda bike was travelling towards Kilnhurst on Carr Lane at around 3.50pm on Wednesday, June 24, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

The biker (25) is reported to have collided with a grey Nissan Navara pickup truck which was travelling in the opposite direction.

He suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital the next day, the spokeswoman said.

Police said the investigation was continuing and officers remained keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened that afternoon or were present at the scene.

Officers are keen to speak to a woman they believe to be a district nurse, who gave first aid to the biker, and two other men who had been travelling in a black Mark 3 Ford Escort who were also at the scene.

Anyone who was at the scene or has any information about what happened should call 101, referencing incident number 678 of June 24.

Police are also appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to send it to [email protected], with the incident number as the subject title.
