Appeal after racial abuse on train through Rotherham

A PASSENGER was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated abuse towards a woman on a train.

The 38-year-old man, from Sheffield, was held after an incident on a Northern Rail service heading through Rotherham to the city.

He has been released under investigation and British Transport Police have appealed for witnesses.

The incident happened at 8.30am on Thursday, June 25.
