Appeal after group leaves teenager with broken tooth

A TEENAGER was left with a swollen eye and broken tooth after he was attacked at an indoor football centre while having a kickabout with friends.

The 13-year-old was reportedly assaulted at 4.30pm on Friday, December 17, at Rotherham Football Centre on Chesterton Road, Eastwood.

"The victim was approached by another group of boys, who demanded he hand over his bag," said a police spokesperson.

"When he refused, he was assaulted by the group.

"It is reported the group fled the scene with the victim’s black Valentino bag containing his bank cards and cash.

"The victim sustained a swollen eye and broken tooth as a result of the incident."

Anyone who was in the area at the time, or has information that could help, is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 616 of December 17.
