Anxiety support available as new campaign launched

ROTHERHAM’S health boss says “excellent” support and advice is available for those experiencing anxiety during the winter after the CCG launched a new campaign.

Dr Richard Cullen, local GP and chair of NHS Rotherham CCG, said: “Anxiety and worry are natural feelings, especially in the ongoing pandemic and the accelerating numbers of Omicron cases across the borough.

“Looking after our mental health has never been more important.”

A campaign has been launched by health and care organisations in Rotherham aimed at raising awareness of the support and advice available across the borough.

The campaign focuses on ensuring local residents have the information and self-help tools they need to look after their own mental health, as well as have the knowledge of how to support a friend or family member.

Dr Cullen said: “In Rotherham, we are lucky to have several support services for anxiety and this campaign will highlight some excellent practical tips and advice navigating people to the right support for them and encouraging those who need support to take action during these challenging times.”
