Another man charged over Lewis Williams murder in Mexborough

DETECTIVES investigating the killing of Lewis Williams have charged another man with murder.

Ryan Nisbet (20), of Springwood Road in Barnsley, was remanded in custody to appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday).

Mr Williams died at the scene after being shot on Wath Road in Mexborough on the afternoon of January 11.

A 20-year-old man from Doncaster, who was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder, remained in custody over the weekend.

A 49-year-old man held on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of ammunition has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 32-year-old man from Doncaster, and a 22-year-old man from Rotherham, also remain on police bail while enquiries continue. 

Two other men, both 20, have also been bailed as part of the investigation.

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are both charged with Lewis’s murder. They were remanded into police custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on February 1.
