Angry at Maltby council decision

TRADE Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) supporters in Rotherham are extremely disappointed that two parish councillors elected as TUSC representatives to Maltby Town Council have been removed for non-attendance.

Whilst both are very young and have moved out of Maltby, TUSC feels that by not resigning their positions as soon as they knew they could no longer serve their electors, they have let down those people that campaigned for and voted for them.

Their election victories, standing for TUSC, albeit at Town Council level, demonstrated the desire for an anti cuts and socialist alternative amongst working class people, to challenge the patronage of Labour control in the borough.

Rotherham TUSC will continue to campaign for such a radical alternative to Labour and the other establishment parties including the “more Tory than the Tories” UKIP and will be standing candidates in next year’s council and general elections.

TUSC will continue to try to ensure that all our candidates are committed to carrying out their responsibilities in the event of being elected, as we prove we are different to the mainstream careerist politicians who continue to impose cuts and austerity on ordinary people to pay for a crisis caused by ‘banksters’ and speculators.
