And Clifton Park makes five...

CLIFTON Park has been awarded a Green Flag award for the first time—taking Rotherham’s tally to a record five.

It joins Rosehill, Bradgate, Rother Valley Country and Thrybergh Country as a recipient of the national award recognising excellent green spaces.

Clifton’s first Green Flag comes just months after the walled garden and garden house opened—marking the completion of a £7.5 million restoration project.

Green Flag Plus Partnership chairman Phil Barton said: “This year’s winners have worked hard throughout the year.

“The awards scheme, and its growth, is essential in driving up the standards of our parks and green spaces.

“Access to quality green space is something we all desire and the scheme plays a key role in providing it.”

All winning sites have the chance of a further prize, the People’s Choice, chosen by the public. To vote visit www.keepbritaintidy.org/GreenFlag.
