ROTHERHAM’S would-be "Kings" of indie pop have warmed up for a European tour by releasing more details of their debut album.
Alvarez Kings’ first full-length release, enigmatically-titled Somewhere Between, will make its way into shops and onto download sites on Friday, April 14.
Fans have finally been given the first glimpse of the cover of the 11-track CD, which will feature a moody silhouette shot of the four band members.
Simon Thompson (vocals), Sean Parkin (guitar), Paul Thompson (bass) and Rich Walker (drums) will head off to Germany a week later for a mini-tour taking in Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and Vienna.
Closer to home, the local lads play Sheffield’s Outlines Festival tonight and are booked for a Devonshire Green slot at the city’s Tramlines Festival on July 22.
They described the new album as “the proudest body of music we have done to date”, adding: “We have challenged and tortured ourselves into giving you a debut album that you all deserve.”
