All that jazz for theatre's musical season

THERE will be all that jazz as music legends call in for a theatre’s spring and summer season.

Doncaster’s Cast will be hosting a number of jazz aces over the next few weeks.

Pianist Dominic J Marshall and his trio kick off the season on Thursday, March 16, before the Pat McCarthy Quartet make their Doncaster debut on Wednesday, April 5.

The Ronnie Scott All Stars will be playing on Friday, March 31, with Clare Teal and her Mini Big Band offering The Ella Fitgerald Legacy on Saturday, April 29.  

Later on in the season, top Canadian trumpeter Jay Phelps leads his fiery quartet on Friday, June 2, and Crooners bring humour to the music of the Rat Pack on Friday, June 23, as they are joined by their nine-piece Doncaster favourites The Mini Big Band.

Jazz icon Chris Barber OBE and his Big Band complete the jazz-packed season on Friday, June 30.
