“The application process was really nice and wasn’t too stressful.

“There was always a bit of concern in my mind (that I wouldn’t get a place) but I thought I would get it.”

Georgia, of Killamarsh, said she initially had her heart set on a career in medicine because she wanted to help people, but when she started studying geography at A-Level she realised she could help people in a different career path too.

“I have always been academic,” she said.

“Cambridge is such an incredible place to go and the college I’m going to has the most beautiful gardens.

“It’s like going to Hogwarts.”

Wales High School headteacher Pepe Di'Iasio said: “Once again the hard work of students and staff has paid dividends in the outcomes for the students at Wales High School.

“The vast majority of them have already secured their places at their chosen university.

“We have seen an increase in the overall points achieved per entry in academic and vocational qualifications.”
