Actor Brian Blessed set for an evening to remember

ACTING legend and former Rotherham student Brian Blessed is coming back to his roots next year.

The Flash Gordon star turned mountaineer will be answering questions for fans and relating anecdotes from his colourful life as the Civic Theatre plays host to An Evening with Brian Blessed at 7.45pm on January 12.

Brian (pictured), who was born in Mexborough and once spoke of cycling into Rotherham for elocution lessons, will also be the special guest at a Yorkshire Tapas dinner and drinks reception at The Wharncliffe restaurant on Percy Street at 6.30pm.

Charity Phase Worldwide, which is organising the event, said ticket details would be released soon.
