A1M closure warning

DRIVERS planning to use the A1M in South Yorkshire are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys tonight.

The road will be closed in both directions between Junction 35 (Wadworth) and Junction 37 (Marr) from 9pm  until 5am tomorrow.

The closure is to allow the Highways Agency to carry out maintenance work on two bridges close to Junction 36.

Clearly-signed diversions will be in place. Northbound traffic will leave the A1(M) at Junction 35 and follow the M18 to Junction 3, then use the A6182, A630 and A635 to rejoin the A1(M) at Junction 37.

Southbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse. Signed diversions will also be in place from the northbound and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 36.

Delays are expected to be slight, but drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
