72 flats for vacant Howard Building

PROPOSALS for a former town centre college block to be converted into 72 flats have been passed.

The works on the vacant Howard Building will include new parking spaces and replacement windows.

The plans for the four-storey block — built on Eastwood Lane in the 1930s — were scaled down from 72 properties.

London-based Avro Developments said the studio and one-bedroom flats would attract graduate professionals.
