DOZENS of jobs will be lost when a delivery firm closes its Brinsworth office.

Staff at Yodel’s Park House Lane site, which currently employs 67 people, were told of the planned closure on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman said the decision to close the site was not “not easy” and talks were ongoing with staff and unions.

She added: “We can confirm that Yodel is proposing the closure of our site on Park House Lane and the transfer of our delivery services to existing neighbouring depots in Alfreton and Selby.

“The proposed closure is part of our continuing drive to improve our operational efficiency.

“Currently the site employs 67 people. We recognise the type of change proposed is not easy and we are consulting with employees and the relevant trade unions.

“Wherever possible we will offer roles in other parts of our network and we will also be offering outplacement workshops and JobCentre engagement as further support in finding new opportunities.”
